Plan Implementation

The first phase of the GH Food Truck Plan will be implemented beginning September 14, 2011. This document contains an up to date summary of the details of the plan that Food Truck owners planning on being present at the bi-weekly event should be aware of.

... Complete the agreement (link to PDF) and mail or FAX it to the Chamber in advance.

... On Wednesday, arrange parking as you normally would. Of course, we would prefer that no one "reserve" a spot all day, but we understand the reality of the current situation. Just do what you normally do. Any parking violations are your responsibility, just as they have been in the past.

... Beginning September 14, 2011 and until further notice you will need single day use bathroom letters on every day you are vending on Chatsworth Street.

... It remains your responsibility to be within the required distance of an approved bathroom and to have permission from the merchant. The only difference is that you will receive the permission letter from the Chamber office (provided the merchant agrees) instead of directly from the merchant if you agree to participate in the plan. The Chamber cannot and will not guarantee the fitness of any bathroom or location.

... If you choose to park where a bathroom letter is not available, that is likewise your responsibility and is no different than in the past. To the extent that we have time, we will try to suggest an alternate location where a letter can be obtained through the Chamber office. We can only issue letters if we have an agreement with the Food Truck operator on file. Please do not count on this, though since we can not make guarantees.

... All food trucks are encouraged to contribute $10 which will be passed on to DM Cleaning (Gene & Mary Turner) for the usual litter removal service. If you choose not to get a letter facilitated by the Chamber, you are still encouraged to contribute. DM Cleaning provides an essential service that makes the continuation of this event possible. There currently is no additional contribution sought by the Chamber for clean up purposes. This is subject to change as the plan continues to evolve.

... Our immediate goal is to make this no different than a usual Wednesday or Friday, other than picking up the bathroom letter. Our long term goal is the sustainability of the event in the interest of improving local business opportunities.

... The Chamber is not advising you on what to do nor are we advising on what not to do. Your business is your business and you should run it as you see fit. Keeping the area clean and maintaining the positive character of the food truck event is helpful for all businesses -- both local fixed business as well as mobile food vendors. We encourage you to participate and grow with us.
