ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT/MIKE CASEY CLASSIC
for more pictures, please visit our Facebook Page.

Just over 100 Golfers took part in the 33rd Annual Mike Casey Classic at Porter Valley Country Club on May 7, 2012.

Employing a Shamble Format, golfers took part under a clear blue sky, a sun drenched golf course and warm winds enveloped this year's edition.

Golf Chairman Hank Miller and the Golf Committee headed a group of volunteers that once again worked very hard to pull off another successful golf tournament.

Volunteers greeted the golfers first, checking them in, selling Golfers packages and getting them ready for either the putting contest or getting their swings in on the driving range.

An added feature this year was a complimentary preparatory massage provided by Asana Chiropractic's Valerie Cachola, to help limber the golfers backs, necks, shoulders and legs before heading out on to the course.

Other golfers partook in enjoying a continental breakfast provided by Porter Valley.

By 11:00 a.m., golfers had their assigned carts and opening tee holes and headed out, flowing in two smooth lines; one group heading west and north and the other heading east.

Meanwhile, the dining room was prepped for the dinner, auction and raffle that awaited the players upon their return. Concurrently, Cheryl Ford, Gary Farajian and Nadya Donikian prepared the BBQ for the lunch time meal.

Wrapping up the evening was the drawing for the Palm Desert House, which eventually went to Mr. Dick Allen. After dinner, the golfers lined up to claim their prizes and head home. Just in time, too, because on Monday, May 6, 2013, it will happen all over again.

The Chamber wants to express its deepest thanks to all those who made the latest edition of the Mike Casey Classic a success:
